Almost Ready For 20202….Whenever That Will Be

Here is a picture of my car, some sails I had made by Knightworks and our pit box. There are still a few things to be done.
I haven’t started the car yet but I will soon, no rush really. I didn’t hear it running when I picked it up, but I prefer to start it outside when it gets a little warmer.
I like the sails to promote my sponsors and the pit box, though half the size of most used by teams, with 20 times cheaper and looks great.
I am currently working on all my scrap books to get them looking more like a library and color coordinated. I will show a picture of that soon, still about 8 out of 30 books. A few books have multiple years in them, back when pictures and advertising material wasn’t as abundant as it is today and has been for the past 35 years.
More updates soon.
Thanks for visiting our site….be safe and pray for a cure and that people will use distancing to help prevent the spread of this evil virus.

Pit Cart Painted….Thank You PYE Chev Buick GMC

We had discussed the option of wrapping our tool box but I felt it would be better if it was painted. The paint would be stronger and less costly than wrapping it. Kirk Alexander, the owner of First Line Images agreed and Ian Murphy, the painter at PYE Chev Buick GMC painted it for me along with a few other parts.
Kirk will make up some decals for it.
More things to post soon. I am slowly picking away at completion, but a ways to go yet. The trailer needs to be cleaned and parts loaded, but that won’t happen until we get a warm spring day. The good news is that it’s coming, and so is a cure/drug for Covid-19. I’m hoping for every ones sake, those sick and those with businesses get relief soon.
Keep praying my friends and God will free us of this horrible evil virus.

Pit Cart For 2020

First I want to say that I am doing everything I can to stay safe and not hurt anyone else with this virus. I hope all of you are doing the same, stay sage.
I pray everyday for God to help the medial engineers and scientists to find a cure for this evil Covid-19. Praying for comfort for those who have lost loved ones, those who are sick, and those who are worrying about getting back to work so they don’t get too far behind with home and living costs. Maybe we didn’t act fast enough, but the 2009 Swine Flu, that saw 61 million Americans infected and 12,500 die, was not handled like this one. We never shut anything down, and now the world is shut down……maybe we will prepare for the next virus by hiring more scientists, engineers, medical staff, by giving college students who go threw for a Doctor or nurse degree, a job. Most now find no openings in hospitals, yet the hospitals are under staffed and most people wait 5 or 6 hours to see anyone….that is insane. Our governments need to defer more money to our health system. Who cares about going to Mars, or spending billions on other things, lets look after our own first, here on earth. I didn’t read anywhere in the Bible where God told us to build a home for our family on the Moon, or Mars.

Update
I have never had a proper pit cart since I started racing. Mostly because I never really needed one for 99% of the races I have in and secondly because I could never afford one. The only time I really needed one was at Peterborough Speedway for Autumn Colors, and Jukasa Speedway. We used our little black cart and got help with other teams to help get our tires to the infield.
2020 will be different, I will need a pit cart, assuming of course that we race, and I lean more towards Yes than NO. Every team has to pit in the infield at Scotia Speedworld, but no trailers allowed, same as Peterborough and Jukasa Speedways.
Knowing I couldn’t afford a $5000-$10,000 new pit cart, or even a $3000 used one, God opened a door for me. I saw this bottom box at Canadian Tire. I asked the manager Jason if I could get the tool box in exchange for doing 3 shows in the summer to support their Jump Start program. He said he would let me know. A week later Jason called me and said “come and pit up your tool box”. What a great deal for my team. It was a $1000 tool box.
Once home I thought would get a cart and put the tool box on it rather than try to maneuver this on it’s caster wheels, knowing it would most likely get jammed and not roll too easy. In my shop yes, but not in the pits with stones.
I decided to get this cart from Princess Auto, with a 1200lb capacity. It would be more than enough. I ended up getting two, the other one to carry the generator, jack, stands and fuel.
My total cost on this was under $600. Next painting of the tool box and mounting.
More updates on our team as we get closer to opening day.

Grindstone Back In 2020

Even though Grindstone is located in Ontario, they will be with me in 2020. Of course 5 of our 17 scheduled races are in Ontario in the fall, once the Maritime Pro Stock Tour schedule is complete. If there are postponed races with the MPST, I will stay with those and then head west to Ontario.

Chrome Makes It Pop…….Like Always

Here’s a great side view of the car. The front part of the door and the fender is reserved for the Maritime Pro Stock Tour sponsors. I’m hoping to get a package from the series soon.
Pictures soon of our some of our equipment. PYE Chevrolet Buick GMC in Truro has been doing the painting for me.

2020 Paint Scheme

Here is our 2020 Pro Late Model paint scheme, maybe one of our best ever. Special thanks to PPG for supplying the paint I wanted, PYE for a great paint job and Kirk Alexander of Finish Line Graphics. He worked with me until I was completely happy with the look…..oh, and I am.
