We won the Best Appearing car award came in 1985. It was my second year of the OARC, Hobby Division, now known as the CVM. It was also our second time winning this award, the first being 1969 in the Mini Stock.
1985 was our 17th year, and the first season running #9, my second favorite number.
The car was painted like Bill Elliott’s Coors car. Ironically we would win Best Appearing Car with #9 not #36. Over the next 35 season we would win the award 18 more times.
