IWK 250…….My Biggest, Most Thrilling Race In 48 Seasons
Going Home Tour…..event!
We will be having an event at my place on July 10th to help get us the rest of the funds to the biggest race of my career, the IWK 250 held at Riverside International Speedway on July 16th in Antigonish Nova Scotia.
We will be competing in the Maritime Pro Stock Tour. NASCAR star Matt Crafton will be there, as will many top Maritime racers.
It’s 250 laps on a fast high banked oval. A competition yellow on lap 125 for tires and fuel……no doubt my biggest race in 48 years.
This race is special to me because I was born in Truro Nova Scotia, and have many dear Uncles, Aunts, cousins and friends living in that area. We are having a fun event with an awesome barbecue, many door prizes and even a Dart contest.
Here is the ticket, you don’t have to be there to win a prize, all names will be put in for the draw.
Please call me on my cell or email me for tickets

Jay Linde Does Awesome In His First Ever Stock Car Race
After getting rained out at Varney I was able to head to Flamboro Speedway to spot for Jay Linde who was driving my Late Model. I asked Jay a few months ago if he would like to drive and he said he would.
I was very concerned about him racing our car without a good spotter. As it turned out I would be spotting and guiding him through his first ever stock car race.
He made two practices on Tuesday night at Flamboro, but with no one else on the track. He got a quick baptism to racing once he took the oval with other cars in the first of two hot lap sessions. It was overwhelming for him, but he did very well in his first feature, finishing 13th of 16.
The second feature was cancelled due to a hydro issue. He will run his postponed feature on June 25th, it will be the first race out and I will run the rest of the night, racing in the regular scheduled program.
Overall I was very happy with Jay and his efforts. He listened to me and the car came off the track unscathed.
OSCAAR Races Cancelled Full Throttle Motor Speedway for June 11th
“Return to the shop”………..Full Throttle Motor Speedway is trusting the weather man to be accurate about some nasty Weather coming to that area for Saturday and have cancelled the races for Saturday night June 11th……if there is a rain date I will post it here…..thanks for the Ontario Oval Eric Uprichard photo

Disappointment At Delaware
A frustrating night for us but we tried, I just couldn’t get through turns 3 and 4 to set up coming off turn 4 and lost a lot every lap. Maybe not enough wedge, or just me. Finished last in our heat, and last in the 17 car feature when the 3rd link, (upper link, coming from the quick change to the roll cage) let go. The damage could have been worse, but we will lose our driveshaft from grinding on the chassis when the rear end tipped back……..back to back DNF’s……we will get it better for the next time out.
Special thanks to Don Yorke for helping us. I very much appreciated his efforts to get us better…..next time will be different.
Thanks Lloyd, Billi, Louie and Buttons for making it a fun night in spite of our bad luck and to Ashley McCubbin for this picture.
Full Throttle Motor Speedway Test Session
We raced Saturday night at Full Throttle Speedway. Unfortunately we won’t be going back in the Late Model because of schedule conflict. We will be there 2 more times in the OSCAAR Modified.
The full story of our race on May 28th in on Diary of a Season 2016.
Special thanks to Katie MacDonald for this photo.

OSCAAR Modified Feature Win So Close…..It Will Come
On Sunday night, while leading, our Modified quit on lap 24 of the 30 lap feature. No fuel to the carb. We found the handle for the fuel shut off valve missing on the rear deck, I replaced that part late Tuesday and headed to Flamboro for a test session. I was hoping the valve was the problem, it seemed obvious.
Pro Late Model racer Rodney Rutherford counted laps for me.
After a hard 22 laps, the car was fine. Maybe I should have done more laps but there were cars waiting to come on the track, they only allow one at a time for practice night. Anyway there was no issues, so I cautiously assume it’s going to be okay for the next race. I just hope it doesn’t act up on lap 24 at Delaware on June 3rd…..like I needed to stress my self with that thought 🙂
Thanks to Eric Uprichard 0f Ontario Oval for taking this picture…..the full story is on Diary of a Season 2016 in the Message Board section of our site.
Thanks for dropping by.
Great Weekend In Many Ways For Our Team
Our cars were finished just in time for the big weekend at Flamboro Speedway. Thanks to my awesome crew and sponsors for getting our team ready for 2016.
I decided to get a few extra laps on the Late Model by helping support OSCAAR’s Super Late Model show. We were well out of our league but did get some much needed feed back on our Late Model.
We ran 4 heats and 4 features on Saturday and Sunday.
The full story is on Dairy of a Season 2016.
