Our car is coming along good. Just had the transmission repaired and installed. We were able to install it with the shifter rods still attached making it a lot easier and faster.
This picture was taken by Ernest Pothier at Center For Speedway in Shediac New Brunswick. A fun track that I was able to learn quick. We finished 8th in this feature.
If you look close at both the inside wheels they are half on the edge of the track. Its a 8″ drop off the edge of the pavement. I had to do that to gain any time on the veteran Shawn Pierce.
More updates soon as we wait for all the body panels to be completed at PYE Chevrolet.

Highlight From 2020 Riverside International Speedway
Transmission Out…..Needs Reseal & Adjustment
All the body panels are ready now accept for the front and rear nose. They should be done by the end of the week. I decided to paint the inside of the fenders and rocker panels so all panels are black inside.
Chris White came over a few times the past 2 weeks and we got a bunch done off our list. Chris is new to racing and our crew, but has been a fast learner and can’t wait to get to the shop to help.
I let and all my crew do as much as possible so they will know with confidence once racing starts.
Bob Landry, Tyler Hallahan, Jeff DeCoste and Kerry Fry have been unable to come to the shop but they will once things settle down for them. They have all been such an amazing help in 2020.
Chris and I got a lot of maintenance done. Brakes, all levels drained and refilled, new spark plugs, new front bumper installed, new plug for the quick change, gears changed for Scotia Speedworld although we’re not sure where our first race will be, but gears take less than 20 minutes to change.
The transmission was removed and will be checked over. It’s got some leaks and the shifter linkage assembly wasn’t install properly when we did the clutches, not allowing the car to go fully into reverse. It went in okay, but as soon as I backed up it jumped out.
Once we get the transmission fixed it will go back in and then we can put the new body panels on the car and have it lettered by Kirk Alexander.

Body Panels Ready….Some Driveline Repairs First
We got the body panels back from PYE Chevrolet. Ian Murphy did an amazing job again putting the beautiful green on the panels. The paint was supplied by PPG. I am very thankful for these 2 sponsors on our team for 2021.
We have some repairs to make on the drive line. Nothing too serious, but the trans has been jumping out of reverse ever since we replaced the clutch discs. We had the transmission out 4 times, so it is quite possible I got something in wrong because the shifter was working fine before that. I want to get it fixed before the body panels go on the car. We will also go over the full chassis to make sure everything is good for 2021.
More photos to come soon.

David & I At Spartan Speedway In Michigan 1989…My First Championship Season
I was so blessed to race with my son for most of his 30 years. He left the CVM in 2003 letting 2 of his crew race the car. Then he went to Late Model in 2004. I joined him in 2005 with my own Late Model.
In this picture we are enjoying his first trip to Spartan Speedway, it may have been my first trip there as well.

David & I Raced 30 Years Together……This Is David’s First Win
While waiting for our panels to painted I will post some pictures and stories of the racing with my son David. He was one of the top runners in both the Hobby and Late Model classes.
14 Championships
60 plus Feature wins.
Here is a picture of David’s first win in the Hobby division in 1988.
Check out 52 Years Of Stats to see some of David and my special stats racing together.

Mechanical Repairs Start Now
The body has gone to PYE Chevrolet for paint. They should be ready in 2 weeks giving us time to finish going over the car very thorough. We want to replace the pads, any bent or damaged parts, fix other things that might need attention, basically a complete going over replacing all fluids and making things better that were a pain….mainly the shifter.
I have posted some pictures on Diary of a Season 2020 showing our progress.
I also have 3 proposals out for sponsorship for 2021. We badly need partners for 2020 along with those we have now. God opens doors and so I trust in Him to send sponsors for our team.

Panels Gone To PYE Chevrolet….Now The Complete Check Over
Now that all our panels are prepared, fitted and adjusted, we have sent all the panels to PYE Chevrolet in Truro for paint. I expect will get all the panels back in 2 weeks, maybe a little longer. The time away gives us an opportunity to completely go over the rest of the car and make sure there are no bent, cracked or wore out pieces. The car will be completely shampooed, then put on roll off stands to allow us better access to all the suspension and chassis parts. We will change all the fluids as well.
I hope to have the car pretty well race ready by late November, including lettering.
I have sent out a few proposals for new partners. There have been a few no’s so far, but praying God opens a door for us to get the funds we need for 2021.

Heading To PYE Chevrolet Soon For An Awesome Paint Job
Now that it’s finished all the panels will go to PYE Chevrolet this week and come back a beautiful green. My crew, Buttons, Bob, Chris, Shannon and Tyler have worked very hard and steady to make this happen.
Once it’s painted we will assemble all the parts then Kirk Alexander will do his beautifying with his graphics.
In the meantime we will spend 100 man hours going over the car completely cleaning, checking and updating whatever parts need attention.
There are pictures posted on Diary of a Season 2020 of this last effort.

Body Panels Ready For Paint……How Nice Is That…..Thanks To My Crew
Buttons approves.
We just finished the body panels on the car. The final touches were completed including, trimming the fenders for clearance, body braces, final fit of the hood, the rear bumper, spoiler and rocker panels.
The car goes to PYE Chevrolet for paint the last week of October. While it’s gone we will work on the chassis, cleaning it, thorough inspection of all parts, changing all fluids, battery connections, checking for wore out or loose hime-ends etc.
This will be the quickest I’ve had my car finished for paint, and if we get it lettered and completed by mid November, it will be the quickest race ready project ever…..been fun.
Thanks to Bob, Shannon, Chris and Tyler for spending the time to help get this ready before the snow flies,
