I have been rally busy the past few weeks with so much going on, but here is a run down for 2024.
We celebrated 50 full seasons with Quaker State…..”1974–2024″
We raced 14 Nights……………1348 Career…our last race of 2024 was at Center for Speed in Shediac New Brunswick October 19th after our Ontario trip.
We reached 900 Consecutive Nights…..905 in a row now
We reached 3000 total races at Flamboro October 2nd 50 lap race………..3004 now
We finished 8th Overall in the Grisdale Triple Crown at Flamboro October 6th
We finished 10th of 19 cars at Peterborough Speedway on October 13th
We finished 10th in the Maritime Pro Stock Tour standing’s. We were 8th when we headed to Ontario but two races that were rained out in the tour were rescheduled while we were away.
We had a date with an Ontario sponsor on September 26th plus an event at Glendale Secondary School in Hamilton.
I would miss the October 5th race at Petty Speedway, a rain date from the June 8th race that was cancelled after being there all day for 7-8 hours. The series agreed to give us last place points for the October 5th rescheduled race.
We would also miss the final race at Riverside International Speedway on October 12th, we were in Peterborough, but had enough points that only 2 cars could pass us when they added the last place points from Petty.
This season was filled with milestones. God has provided me to continue racing by good health and dedicated sponsors.
I am in the process of working on sponsors for 2025.
I hope to run another class next year as well as my Pro Late Model as our team sets a goal of 1000 consecutive nights. We are 90% the way there and can only make it if I van race in two series for the next two to three years. It will be a challenge but I feel “1000 in a row” is a stat that I would love to hold because I love racing, and 2 cars will give us more nights to add to 905.
We start our rebuild this weekend and will add pictures to keep you updated, and as well on Facebook
God bless you all and your families.

Tire Craft 200….Scotia Speedworld September 21st
we are at Scotia Speedworld this coming Saturday. This will be our last race in the Maritimes unless one gets rained out and rescheduled. Unfortunately we will miss the October 12th race and that could hurt us in the standings if it goes, but we will be in Ontario and though it hurts to miss a race, we won’t be missing any on our streak, we can’t be in 2 places at once.
It’s been almost a month since we raced last, August 22nd. Looking forward to our return to Scotia and most of all we need a clean night of racing.

Truro Mazda Miata Event September 14th
WE had our race on display at another sponsors location of Saturday the 14th. There was no racing for us and we were glad to support Truro Mazda.
Like Canadian Tire they were very happy we could bring the car, so Buttons and I made the short trip and had a great day.
Thanks for visiting our site.
God bless you all
Canadian Tire Show Friday September 13th
We did our 3rd show of the year on Friday at Canadian Tire in Truro. It was a fun day, lots of customers and fans dropped by. We also had a show on Saturday at Truro Mazda on Saturday from 10 until 1 PM. Both shows were good for our sponsors, our series and of course our sport.
We have done 4 shows now in 2024 and plan to do two more in Ontario when we leave on September 24th. I will post about our next race by Friday the 20th.

September 7th Rained Out…Rescheduled for October 12th….We Will Be In Peterborough
This past weekends race was rained out and rescheduled for October 12th. Unfortunately we are in Ontario. We lost 2 races to rain this year, the other one is rescheduled for October 5th but again, we will be in Ontario. We are currently 8th in points. Because we were at the rainout in June, we will get last place points and that would still keep us in 8th, but if the October 12th race goes we will likely drop to 11th. Can’t help that though.
I am having a raffle currently on Facebook for some apparel and other items. Check it out, half the spots are gone but still 45 left. Here is a picture of the draw prizes including a Diecast car…..you can send a message to my email garyelliottmotorsports@gmail.com if interested…or Facebook 🙂

Riverside International Speedway September 7th….Rain Looming
We hope to get in our final race at Riverside for the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour this weekend. This will be our 11th race and the 8th of the Tour.
We sit 8th in points right now and are hoping this race doesn’t get postponed because we leave for Ontario on September 24th.
We have a good hold on 8th but not secure enough to have any bad nights or miss a race.

River Glade Return A Heartbreak
We supported the 60th Anniversary for River Glade Speedway in New Brunswick like we had scheduled but most cars on the list did not show up. Only 6 of us graced the River Glade Rebuild.
The track had been closed for 14 years or more and excitement was in the air with this 3 day event. Night one was Pro Late Models. The gates opened at 10 am and races started at 6. On a Thursday night that may have scared some from coming but they had months notice.
The last time I was here was in 1984 in our Hobby car and we won a heat race. I wanted so bad to maybe take my first checker in the Maritimes since coming here in 20220, but it wasn’t meant to be.
We did time trials, then a heat race. We finished 4th in both. I decided to change the gears for more RPM, but only had enough to get another 70 RPM and could have used about 100.
There was a driver intro and the national anthem. We would start 3rd in this race.
On the green I felt right away the throttle not going all the way to the floor. No matter what I did in that first lap[ could not get the throttle wide open. I had to pull over and let the field go by.
I got lapped but to our surprise we were able to pass 2 cars to put us 4th, they were also a lap down. When the 30-lap caution came out I pitted and Shannon came over right away and then Bob.
The track was lining up the cars for the restart as we were trying to find out why the throttle would not open…..then Bob found a large stone jammed in the linkage acting as a stopper.
Once removed I headed back to the track and just got there as the field got the green.
It took about 10 laps to catch the 2 cars I passed earlier but I was so far behind the leaders they caught me again with one to go. My spotter said “the yellow is out” so I was happy because I would be on the lead lap and have a chance for a top three…..I let off the gas as the leasers were coming and then the spotter said ..”no that was the white”, but I had already slowed down enough for the leader to pass me.
Not sure where we finished, nothing has been posted yet, I would think 4th.
Our next race is September 7th at Riverside Speedway.
Thanks for visiting our site and God bless you all.
Thanks to Tanya Everett for the photo.
Gary Elliott Motorsports Celebrates 40th Anniversary At River Glade Speedway’s 60th Anniversary
This Thursday August 22nd we will be at River Glade Speedway for their 60th Anniversary special event. They have been closed for 10 years and have opened this 3 day weekend to celebrate 60 years. It will feature a 60 lap Pro Late Model show to kick off the exciting weekend. This will be our 10th race of 2024
In 1984 I was President of the Hobby Class, aka, Canadian Vintage Modifieds and organized a 2 week trip to the Maritimes. It was called the East Coast Tour. we raced at Aroostook County Speedway in Maine, then Riverside International Speedway in Nova Scotia. Our 3rd track was River Glade Speedway outside Moncton with the tour finishing this one in a life time road trip at Hammond River Speedway in St johns new Brunswick.
My team will be part of the River Glade 60th as we celebrate our 40th at this exciting event.
Hope the turn out is huge for the promoter Gary McLean.

900 Consecutive Nights In The Books…..250 Lap Summer Clash On Our 900th

899 In The Books…Car Was Off But Will Be Ready For 900 The Summer Sizzler At Scotia
We had a disappointing return to Oyster Bed Speedway on Saturday. We tried our best to get the car set up after a very long exhausting week especially for me. I was tired when we left home to travel to the track but with my awesome crew to help on this day Jack, Bobby, Emily, Ray, Buttons and my long time friend and crew Chief Jim we tired hard to get the car better but could not tame the handling. We did run as fast as the week before, even one lap faster but still not close to where we should have been.
We would finish 6th in the heat, I did try to get by the 5th place car but hit the dirt and lost a few car lengths.
We continued working on the car for the feature thinking we were not too far off but the same results occurred with the car pushing up the track and unable to turn strong in the corners. I was lapped by lap 23 and pulled off 8 laps laps later to finish 19th.
Disappointing for sure and I am hoping we can find the set up for our next race August 10th at Scotia Speedworld….our 900th Consecutive Night, s streak that started June 5th 1987>
