Gary Elliott Motorsports is proud to announce Lincoln Electric will return for the 2021 season, supporting our team for an incredible 19th season.
We are very thankful to all our sponsors and can’t wait to represent them throughout the 2021 season.
My Dad was a welder for the Boiler Makers Union for most of his life. He never failed a welding test for a location he was sent to by the Boiler Makers Union. His weld samples were put on display at the BMU Head Office in Toronto when he was at the top of his welding career.
Dad always praised Lincoln Welders for the efficiency and ease to operate their equipment.
Having Lincoln Electric on our car means so much to me, and especially with the past connections with my father.

Most Popular Driver…….Runner Up Best Appearing Car TCM Awards
I am very happy and excited that we won the TCM Maritime Most Popular Driver award. These awards included Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and PEI. There were many racers involved.
We won the fan vote for Best Appearing Car, but then a panel of judges selected Ashton Tucker of New Brunswick the winner of that award, and we ended up second. We had 39% of the fan votes.
Thank you to all those who voted for our team and congrats to those who were nominated out of the hundreds of teams in the Maritimes.
I have some news to post very soon sponsor wise. If any of my friends or fans know of any sponsors please let me know.

Happy New Year Everyone……All The Best In 2021
I was away since December 14th visiting my loved one in Ontario. We had a great Christmas and New Years.
As we prepare for 2021 I will have a post soon about what’s happening with our team. I have some great news.
Here’s a great picture from the past. David racing at Jukasa in 2018 against APC star Matt Pritico #21 and 15 year old Carson Hoecevar #14, a driver for Kyle Bush. David did awesome running against these much newer cars.
Wishing you all a blessed 2021, so glad vaccines are out for our seniors and those with weak immune systems. Once those are given out to protect those most vulnerable we should be able to live a more free life.

Jim Hallahan Crosses The Finish Line…God Comfort His Family & Friends
I finally got to meet Jim this past summer at Scotia Speedworld. The race was in Jim’s honor, the Jim Hallahan 250. What a beautiful person he was.
I was fortunate as a teenager to watch Jim race the #33 at Pinecrest Speedway. He was a top runner always chasing the checker flag and winning many races. Jim left Ontario to race in the Maritimes and is a member of the Maritime Stock Car Hall Of Fame.
Jim’s grandson Tyler pitted for me this year, making all 8 races, taking the roll of spotter and doing an excellent job.
I will post pictures of Jim’s history in Diary Of A Season 2020 soon.

Work Getting Done For 2021
1997 Hobby Chev Coupe
Close Call At Petty International Raceway July 18th
Over the years I have been very fortunate to avoid wrecks, either by being lucky, good anticipation or watching far enough ahead and seeing things as they develop. I thank God for wisdom to race and make it through races without getting beat up….that’s one victory most conscientious racers look for. Only one person can win, but many can race and avoiding wrecks not only moves you up in the race standings but saves $$$$$.
We have spotters, but even with good spotters some situations are in the drivers hands only. Things happen fast and we need to try and get out of the way as safe as possible.
In Diary of a Season 2020, on our Message Board I record all the races, recalling an overall review of the race. This wreck was July 18th.

2019 Was Our Most Recent Best Appearing Car……Troyer Mod
Here is our most spectacular looking car. This Modified won Best Appearing Car 3 times in 2019.
At the Rick Woolner Memorial in July of 2019, at the Ironman 72 at Sunset Speedway and then at the year end OSCAAR Modified banquet.
I posted all the winners since our first car in 1969, on Diary of a Season 2020.

Our First Best Appearing Car In The Hobby Division
We won the Best Appearing car award came in 1985. It was my second year of the OARC, Hobby Division, now known as the CVM. It was also our second time winning this award, the first being 1969 in the Mini Stock.
1985 was our 17th year, and the first season running #9, my second favorite number.
The car was painted like Bill Elliott’s Coors car. Ironically we would win Best Appearing Car with #9 not #36. Over the next 35 season we would win the award 18 more times.
I will post a list of all the winners of that award in Diary of a Season 2020 soon.

First Time At Petty International Raceway
Here is a picture by Tanya Everett from the July 4th race PIR. It took me lots of laps to get this track figured out. By the 4th time racing on it in the Mike Stevens Memorial we were getting better.
More updates soon. Our front and rear bumper covers are being painted and we will install them and the rest of the body panel hopefully this coming week.
