East Coast Friends Adding Up…….Many Great New Face Book Friends Since The IWK 250
Since our trip to Nova Scotia I have gained 35 to 40 face book friends, drivers, crews and fans.
Many added messages of encouragement, wishing us good luck for the rest of 2016 and hoping we return to race in Maritime Pro Stock Tour in 2017.
I am overwhelmed by all that has happened with this amazing trip.
To all those who have connected with us, and those who we raced with, we wish you the best for the rest of 2016. Thanks for visiting our site
OSCAAR Modified Tour…Peterborough Tonight
Tonight we race the Modified at one of my favorite little tracks, little maybe, but very fast. This will be race 8 of the 10 races for the Chase. We are currently 4th in points with the top 8 making the Chase that starts on August 27th at Sauble. Tonight, then Flamboro next Saturday and Delaware on the 13th are the final 3 to get in the top 8. Sauble will be the first elimination round on August 27th, eliminating one car, then September 10th at Full Throttle to eliminate 2 more leaving 5. The final elimination round is Flamboro October 2nd where 2 more cars are eliminated leaving 3 cars to start the Championship race at Peterborough at Autumn Colors on Thanksgiving weekend.
Looking forward to this exciting format.

Qualifying With Terry Dougay From PEI
We met a lot of drivers at the IWK 250 including Terry Dougay #14 and his team. They were great guys, all the teams, and fun to race with. I have started to update my Diary of a Season 2016 today, so it will take time but most of the writing will be with our Nova Scotia race…..get coffee….maybe two.
I have the July 9th race to do first, then IWK, then the two from last weekend….maybe I need the 2 coffee’s lol…extra large….thanks for visiting our site.
IWK 250 A Great Trip
I can only post one picture a day, but the last one, with the bay, blue skies, green trees and reeds, blue water, was just too nice to replace yet.
But here’s a good one of the car pre tech.
I have just finished reports for three shows and four races…..crazy busy, plus trying to get the Modified ready for this weekend.
I will definitely being updating Diary of a Season 2016 soon, just need some relaxing time to type for 3 hours.
Thanks for visiting our site.
Beautiful Nova Scotia
Near Economy Nova Scotia…..What A Beautiful Place To See Up Close
We not only put our car in 3 shows and raced, but we got to see some of the most beautiful country in Canada. The tide went out a long way and we got a chance to see it and walk out to where the water would have been 15 feet deep…..just incredible.
I am currently doing race and show reports, and have been updating face book. I have 3 of 4 shows done, then report on 3 races,
IWK 250 A Home Run
The Going Home Tour was an incredible blessing and tons of fun. I knew we wouldn’t have the car to compete but we weren’t far off thanks to Brian MacDonald’s set up.
Got back at 3am Wednesday morning, I drove 17 hours straight from the other side of Fredericton. Still recovering.
I will post a few pictures from the trip over the next few days although things are hectic getting ready for a double weekend with both cars.
I hope to do my race and show reports tonight, and update Diary of a Season 2016, but right now David is helping me get the Late Model to start…just turns over. He will figure it out. Thanks for visiting our site.

Going Home Tour Event A Big Success
We had our big event on July 10th and the response was incredible, I am truly blessed with so many great friends.
We had over 60 people here, an awesome barbecue of pulled pork provided by bbqcar owner Doug Fischer. Doug and Kathy MacFarlane also provided hot dogs and sausages. Special thanks to Stephen and Lucy, Lloyd, Billi and Abby and many others who helped make it a tremendous success.
We are heading to Nova Scotia tonight, but you can follow us on Race Time Radio for updates during the race.
Thank you to all those who bought tickets, gave door prizes and supported us even from Nova Scotia, just awesome…..and next the big race….but 3 shows first.
Thanks for visiting our site.
Rick Schurr Knows The Grace Of God
Update on Rick Schurr. As most of you know, Friday night we were blessed to have God’s intervention, the Holy Spirit, Angels, and some of God’s children rescue from certain death, my good friend Rick Schurr.
Rick was racing his Modified at Sauble Speedway and had a heart attack during pre feature warm up. The track officials knew right away there was something wrong and summoned the ambulance. With no pulse he was immediately removed from his race car, then paramedic Stephanie Emma took over. Meanwhile my spotter, Lloyd, informed me of what was happening. I couldn’t see from the back chute where I stopped when the red came out.
Lloyd and I prayed, and then I continued to pray, in tears, non stop. I can’t remember praying with such urgency and request that God spare Rick’s life. That plea went on until all cars were told to leave the track, the show had been cancelled. Meanwhile, Stephanie never quit working on Rick, she continued her quest of not letting him go, even though he was without pulse a few times while they worked on him.
I was glad we weren’t racing, my eyes were blood shot.
Once in the pits my crew were gracious, seeing I was upset they comforted me and I ran to the track.
That’s when Stephanie came to me and said “he’s going to be okay, he’s breathing on his own”. She was incredibly strong, but looked like she had been through a battle, and certainly she was, to save his life.
As of today, Rick is resting and recovering at the University Hospital in London with his wife Susan by his side.
Rick has made it through, thank you Lord. Now time for healing and full restoration. God will do that to.
Here is a picture of Rick and his crew, Roger and Bob after winning the Rookie of the Year in the CVM 2011.
On the hood of all my race cars, since 1972 is a tribute to my hero, “36 for Schurr”
God bless you Rick, family and crew. See you soon.
