The Modified is done chassis, shock, engine wise, but the body needs complete sanding, all exterior and interior panels, then it has to be loaded to power wash the chassis and frame, drive line etc. Wheel bearings will have to be repacked and brakes bled. The body panels go for painting the end of this coming week, then it must be reassembled…then taken to Creative Edge and lettered. Once that’s done I need to buy tires and a final scale before the Modified hits the track…..Currently I am sanding the body so Josh Watson can paint it for me. The body will still be black with a green interior and once Josh is done I will send it right away to Steve Lyons for lettering. A lot to do on this car yet…..The Late Model should be home this week. I have more work to do on it, including putting the 604 together with all bolt on parts, installing the driveline, bleeding the brakes, repacking the wheel bearings, then scaling it. Then I am sending it to Creative Edge for lettering. Not really a lot but the Late Model season starts in a month….I’m not sure how much is left on the LM, it’s not home yet. No real panic yet. I would like to get some practice in for both cars before practice day, if we can make it for practice….going to be close.
My other concern of course is getting some help. I am using whoever will lend a hand, and today one of my Dart friends is heading over to sand the Modified body….my plan will be to start on both cars right after this season ends and get a good jump on 2017….but this season demands my upmost attention…thanks for visiting more updates soon.

Oakville Trailers Getting Modified Closer
These pictures from March 30th show our Modified taking shape. Mostly cosmetic updates for this year. Things have been hectic for me causing a slow start on our cars, but we are in high gear now and looking forward to getting both cars home and finished.
The Modified will be painted by Josh Watson once it’s stripped down. The new bars will be chromed by Metal Coaters and once those are finished the car will head to Creative Edge for lettering.
For any trailer work, DOT safeties on trailers, cars, or trucks, having a new trailer built, or race cars up grades including set up, call Ron at Oakville Trailers…..905-469-8939…..thanks for visiting our site………….Note in the back ground is Rick Schurr’s OSCAAR Mod being wrapped by Chuck Barton. Derek Jackson is there as well.
Modified Getting Make-Over At Oakville Trailers
Our Modified was taken to Oakville Trailers where Ron Easton will make some repairs to the chassis, side bars, front and rear bumpers and body sheet metal.
There are a few more repairs and changes that need to be done as well. Our quick change needs repairs as do some shock mounts and the pan hard bar adjuster.
The Mod is in good hands with Ron and his team, although Ron will do 90% of the work needed to get our car ready. Mike Larkin and I stripped the body and suspension parts. Then we cleaned all the parts we removed. I made it down to clean the chassis by hand with varsol. There was no power washer so I may take our Mod to a car wash to do a final more thorough cleaning before we paint the frame….more news and hopefully a few press releases are on the horizon. Stay tuned…and thanks for visiting our site.
2015 OSCAAR Modified Sportsman of the Year
I just want to thank my racing peers in the OSCAAR Mods for voting me the Sportsman of the Year 2015. It is truly an honor to win such an award. Thanks from my heart.
This was a great year for my team, thanks to Jason Legge who helped us immensely by providing a place for us to keep our race cars.
We finished 7th in the Sauble Speedway points and 5th in the Full Throttle Motor Speedway points.
Our best accomplishment was the Modified OSCAAR series, finishing 4th in the standings. Special thanks to my crew for helping in 2015, especially Lloyd Lariviere who made 22 of 32 race nights.
We are now in the process of rebuilding for 2016.
We also have a big announcement to make, very exciting….and very soon.
……….sorry for the bad photo, taken with my phone.
OSCAAR Banquet Tonight
Heading to Ajax for the 2015 OSCAAR banquet. Looking forward to a night of relaxing, being with Billi, Lloyd and Suzette, and all my OSCAAR racing friends.
We finished 4th in OSCAAR points, had a decent season, but struggled at times, still ran okay, but looking for a better run in 2016.
Congratulations to the Champions Gary McLean and Kevin Cornelius.

Autumn Colors!!!……..We Had It and Lost It…..Not Sure How
We had such a great car on Friday night, even Saturday during practice. Two new tires on Saturay night for the second heat wasn’t as good as we expected, but not bad. We had all day Sunday to make sure our car was ready to grab a podium finish for this final OSCAAR tour race. The only change we made was adding new tires from Friday night, and that should have made us even better…..but we lost it somehow.
We knew what the stagger had to be and it was set before I went out. But by lap 2 the car just wouldn’t turn and we fell from 2nd in the feature to 12th and from 3rd in the points to 4th.
I want to thank Lloyd and Billi for being there for the weekend and helping get our car ready to battle. Also, Tommy and Jacob Robb, along with Adam, Jason and Steve, I really appreciate your efforts as well, being a definitive part of our crew for the weekend. Just awesome. I appreciate Tommy Robb and his boys for offering to help us and feel bad for them that we didn’t have the run we all knew we should have, but it wasn’t meant to be, and so we will prepare for the next show on October 24th at Flamboro Speedway.
The full story of our Autumn Colors weekend will be finished on Diary of a Season 2015 by the end of this week.
Thanks for visiting our site.
August 1st……..OSCAAR Goes To Peterborough Speedway……..Series Race #5 Racing With Hard Charging Michael Hearty #20
After a quick rest getting caught up on some home business, we are off to Peterborough Speedway for Saturday night’s Mod race #6. We are currently 3rd in the points after a disappointing finish on Saturday night. Yes we did finish 5th, but if our car was pushing so bad I think we could have won it. I love Sauble and when a schedule is complete there are usually 80% of the races that I really feel I have a chance, and this was one of them. We did lead for a while, but too many restarts. Anyway, I love racing at Peterborough as well, so I am hoping for a strong finish at the Chase of the Colors tomorrow night.
In this picture I am racing with the amazing Michael Hearty who travel every week from Sault Ste Marie to race with us. He is a great guy with a great family and crew.
I am heading to Cookstown to play some darts with my cousins Kim and her husband Tom. Looking forward to that, always have a great time a Tom and Kims.
Hope to see lots of fans and race cars at Peterborough Speedway
Special Thanks To Cliff Hodgkinson For Letting Me Drive His Pro 4 Modified…Dressed In GEM Attire Got My #36, My Name & Quaker State On It
Tomorrow night I will be driving a Pro 4 Modified for Cliff Hodgkinson at Flamboro Speedway. I drove for his father Dave 2 years ago and had a lot of fun in the wild fast Modified. Special thanks to Cliff for letting me do up the Mod in my number and with Quaker State on it.
Hats off to the Flamboro Pro 4’s and the Cliff’s Outlaw Pro 4’s for working together to increase car count…just what race facilities need. So expect 16 to 20 cars.
Pit gates open at 3, races start at 6:30, with LOSC doing time trials at 5:30.
Hope to see many of my friends and fans at Flamboro.
“hey Cliff, I’m not too keen about no roof. Can I have one by the Sauble Speedway race on July 25th”…..I know….”shhhh, just drive it” lol
Delaware Feature Win In 2013….We Want To Do It Again This Week In The OSCAAR Mod
Double header weekend coming up. Race #4 in the OSCAAR Mod tour will be Friday at Delware Speedway, then we head to Sauble Speedway Saturday for their Mid Season LLM Invitational.
Last year we struggled at Delaware finishing 4th in our heat and 8th in the feature. Our team is hoping to improve this year. Delaware holds an advantage for built and 604 Crates, the bigger track allows the higher horse power engines to use more of their 400 plus HP. Our car has been running strong and we hope to be competitve as we look for our first Modified win……………….PS……been very hectic for me right now, so I will update my Diary of a Season after this weekend. I have been making at least one trip a week to Owen Sound to work on my cars and it’s catching up to me. It’s the way things are and I appreciate so much that Jason Legge has given me a home for my race program and museum, although that is not completely up yet………I am also in the planning stages of running an Outlaw Pro 4 Modified again, possibly twice in July………..The picture posted here, with Matt Smith, Don Mierawinski and Cheryl Smith, was significant for a few reasons, with a lot of firsts.
* our first time at Delaware in this car July 26th 2013
* our first in 5 years to the exact date
* our first ever feature win at Delaware Speedway
We hope to do it again this week in the OSCAAR Modidied. We hope to see our friends and fans at either track.
MacMaster GMC Customer Appreciation Day June 27th…Sunset Rained Out
We had our Modified at MacMaster GMC in Orangeville on Saturday from 9:30 until it rained, around 3. Tom and Anne Walters were there as well, with his Late Model.
Lloyd Lariviere, our crew member was there with me, he came from Barrie to help me and I appreciated it very much.
It was a cold damp day but a few people came by. This is the 3rd year in a row for this event. Last year was cold and wet as well. WHERE IS THE 2015 SUMMER!!!!
Our next race is this Wednesday at Full Throttle Motor Speedway, then Saturday we are racing at Sauble Speedway.
