We will compete in our 6th race of 2022. This event is part of the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour, the 4th of 12 scheduled races this year. It will be a milestone for us. The first time ever to visit PEI and obviously the first time on Oyster Bed Speedway. This will be our 47th different track to compete on in our 54 seasons racing.
This track in a smaller oval, high banked and very fast. Similar to Petty International Raceway.
I am very much looking forward to racing at this smooth fast facility.
Happy Canada Day to all of you. Have a great safe holiday and thanks for visiting our site.
Top 10 At Scotia Speedworld…..Quaker State Team Now 9th In Points
We had another competitive run at Scotia Speedworld this past weekend in the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour. It’s taken 2 years to learn the tracks, the car and coaching and teaching our pit crew. My crew have been very good to me and have learned so much in the short time they have been with my team.
We didn’t finish on the lead lap, but we did have a strong run passing and battling with cars all race. The full story is on Diary of a Season 2022. You can read the story on our Message Board. We Finish 12th at Petty International Raceway….On The Lead Lap!!!!!!!!!
I’ve been racing in the Maritimes for 3 years now and June 18th was the first 150 lap race we finished on the lead lap. My crew were excellent again. We maintain the car every week and so far have had no serious mechanical failures in any of our races due to lack of maintenance.
We were all very happy and especially with my daughter Shirley there to be with her Dad (me) for Fathers Day weekend.

First Invitational……4th Race Of 2022……Weather Permitting
We worked on the car this week fixing a few issues, radio’s, brakes and carburetor.
Hopefully all these issues are corrected for this weekends first invitational of 2022 at Petty International Speedway.
The weather looks unstable with rain showing for the next week, but the weather man has been wrong before.
Looking forward to this weekend, my daughter Shirley is flying in from Ontario to watch her Dad race and spend Fathers Day with me.
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads, God bless you all and enjoy your special day.

Frustrating Day With Radio Communication
We had a terrible day trying to get our radio’s to work, but the static and interference only got worse as the day went on. Radio’s are such an important part of racing in this very fast series, or any Pro Late Model series. I don’t use mirrors and rely on good feedback from my spotter, but I need to hear him or I can’t race with confidence. Tyler Hallahan is our spotter and never tells me what to do, just what’s going on around me, and he does a great job. The failed radio communication gave us our worst outing this year.

ECI Pro Stock Tour #3 June 11th………Riverside International Speedway
We had our 3rd points race of 2022 on Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway. It was a bad one for us losing radio’s early in the night and forced to pull off the track whenever being lapped.
I then waited for the next yellow to go back out and go scratch again and wait until the starter gave me the move over flag. Once he showed me that flag, I headed for the pits, not racing without a spotter I can here. The full story will be on Diary of a Season 2022 soon. Petty International Raceway….Our Best Maritime Race So Far
We had a great race on Saturday night at Petty Raceway. A full crew were on hand to help get the car the best its been at this track. I have learned a lot more on chassis set up and the boys count on me to let them know what changes to make. We had our best race so far at Petty with a 9th in the feature….one lap down.
I will have more pictures soon and complete the race report on our Message Board under Diary of a Season 2022. This picture is one of Chris White’s from his phone.

East Coast International Pro Stock Tour….Petty International Raceway
It might be cold after 6pm tomorrow night, but our race team is ready to go for the second of 18 scheduled races we have planned for 2022. It’s also #2 in the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour.
This track is smaller than most we race, but very fast with high banks. I really enjoy racing here and look forward to making our car better each time out.
Special thanks to my crew Shannon Riley, Bob Landry, Chris White, Tyler Hallahan, Jack Lynds, Jeff DeCoste and Alex Coggins for all their help getting our car ready after a hard hit on May 21st at Scotia Speedworld. Our car is ready, all the beat up parts replaced, re lettered thanks to Kirk Alexander if Finish Line Graphic Vinyl. Maintenance and set up are also complete.
I should have some decent pictures after this race.

Car Ready To Race….Lettering For Left Side Soon
Shannon and I worked on the car on the 22nd, then holiday Monday Jack came over to help, and the following day Tuesday, all the crew were here, Bob, Chris, Jack and Alex.
We got a lot done including some maintenance.
We even removed the heavy Jerico transmission to fix an oil leak that I thought we had fixed in the off season. It’s fixed now.
On Saturday June 4th we are scheduled for Petty International Raceway, our second East Coast International tour race. I will post a picture of the finished car once it’s lettered by Kirk Alexander of Finish Line Vinyl Design.
Go to Diary of a Season 2022 for the full report on our first race.

We Get Beat Up….But Manage A Top 10
It was a tough night for us at Scotia Speedworld. We had a decent run until we got spun and they got hit very late by a car quite a few car lengths behind. I decided to finish the race with the damage. If we went to the pits we would have finished 15th or 16th but staying out gave us a 10th place finish.
The full story with pictures will be on Diary of a Season 2022 by Friday. Still waiting for pictures from the track.
