It was a fun day, lots of action. David came from Ontario to help my team and I. He was a huge help getting us on the right track with bump stops.
After getting the car better for the feature things went south in a hurry on the start of the 250 lap Summer Clash at Scotia Speed World when our RF tire went flat coming off turn 4 to take the green.
We had to make a pit stop under green, putting us several laps down and taking us out of any chance for a good finish. There were a ton of cautions. We made several pit stops to improve the car each time out. The bright spots for us were a good handling car at the end of the race and no damage. The full story will be on Diary of a Season 2022.

Summer Clash 250….2 Day Deal….Race #9 For ECI Pro Stock Tour
This weekend will be busy and another race of stamina. It’s the annual 250 at Scotia Speedworld labelled Summer Clash 250.
So far 25 cars have registered to be there.
Friday night sees the Sportsman series run a 100 lap feature. Pro Late Models will have from 1 until 4 to practice for this special night. Once heats are done for the Friday night show, the Pro Late Models will do Time Trials to determine heats for Saturday.
On Saturday there will be heats and features by a few support classes and then their features. After that the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour cars head on the track for a Fan Appreciation event. Once the fans get to meet the drives up close there will be a driver introduction and then the 250 lap feature event.
This will be our 10th race of 2022, matching last years 10 race schedule.
Hoping the weather stays clear for all those involved in making this event possible, the promoters, the sponsors, the racers and our beloved fans.

Canadian Tire Show A Great Success
We had our car on display at Canadian Tire in Truro Nova Scotia. It was a successful day with shoppers dropping by to see the car, get in the car, get an autograph and answers to questions about our team and sponsors. We have another big race coming this weekend, more on that soon.

Quaker State Team 7th In East Coast International Pro Stock Tour Points
After 8 races in the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour, our team finds itself in 7th place only 9 behind #30 Stephen Lively in 6th place, and twenty two behind #25 Ryan Vanoirschot who holds 5th. The picture here, courtesy of Ernest Pothier, is of me and Ryan Vanoirschot.
With 4 races to go including our next race, the Summer Clash 250 on August 13th, we hope to gain ground on the two cars in front of us.
We worked on the car this week and it’s 90% ready to go. Today I power washed the chassis and on Monday or Tuesday of next week, Lonnie Somerville is coming by to check our bump-steer, something that hasn’t been done since I bought the car in 2020. Lonnie is a very knowledgeable racer and his help will be much appreciated.

Oyster Speedway Rainbow At Lap 50
This great picture by Ernest Pothier was taken on lap 50 when rain started to fall. It was more like a sun shower and didn’t last. The full story is on Diary of a Season 2022. Go to the Message Board on left side of our menu, then click on General Chat and see all the posts.

Great Night At Oyster Bed Speedway…Results Didn’t Show It
We knew after our last visit to this fast little track what we had to do and we did them. More gear, and better set up.
In warm ups we had a 13:657, over 3 tenths better than our last visit, and we were on old tires.
We had a great heat race that had many including the announcer excited. It looked like we would finish 3rd but I backed off at the checker so I wouldn’t hit the wall, so we got 4th but to the thrill of our crew and the new fans we got.
Thanks to Ernest Pothier for this great photo of Dylan Gosbee (a top runner at Oyster Bed) and I battling for 3rd.
I will have the full story up on our Message Board soon. Click on the Message Board and then on General Chat to see all our posts. Go to Diary of a Season 2022 to see all the reports and pictures from 2022.

Race #7 For East Coast International Pro Stock Tour Coming Up July 30th
We will run our 8th night of the year and the 7th in the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour. It’s been a fun year for us as we improve every night out. I struggled in the Late Model in Ontario the final 5 years because my focus was on our OSCAAR Modified. Somehow I have been re-energized to run harder, and with the crew I have and our sponsor team we are having a good season. Some damage in 4 of our races to date, but we hope to run a clean and strong race at Oyster Bed Speedway this coming Saturday. It is a small fast, smooth high bank oval and I enjoy racing there.
My computer has been fixed, it was very slow the past few weeks making it hard to post on Diary of a Season 2022, found on the Message Board, but it’s working now.
Thanks to our sponsor Inscapes Creative Design & Print for making this ad for the race. They do awesome work. If you need any printing done, flyers, business cards, invitation cards, letter head, brochures, magazines, plaques or any other print items call 905-825-2626 and ask for George.

IWK-250 Riverside International Speedway
I have been having trouble updating my Message Board Diary of a Season 2022 but have someone looking at it now. I should be able to post soon with pictures and a report.
Here is a picture of our car taken by Jeff Fullmore. He took this at another track but showed it to me during fan appreciation autograph session on Saturday night before the big race.
It’s a great picture and I appreciated him taking it, I signed this one for him, although not until this photo was taken by Chris White our crew member. I will get one for my scrap book soon.

Our 3rd IWK-250……Gruelling But We Get Our Best Finish………14th
Pre tech chance to meet and talk with 65 year old NASCAR Truck Champion Mike Skinner.
Starting 25th in a field of 27 hard charging Pro Late Model drivers we survived the very hot and physically challenging race.
Lots happened to us in this marathon on a day that saw 100 degrees Fahrenheit before the race started. It was much hotter in the car, especially after losing the use of my cool suit that really helps keep the body cool in long races.
We survived this race. Completed 241 of 250 laps and was pretty well exhausted with 40 to go. I am so thankful for my crew and sponsors for helping me get to and through this race. I also thank God for answering prayer when I asked for His strength in the final 40 laps. I was all but spent and needed a boost that I just didn’t have but we got through it and finished 14th.
The full story will be posted soon on Diary of a Season 2022 found on our Message Board.
Thank you to Chris White for this photo and thank you for visiting our site
