After reaching a team milestone, Canadian record and possibly a world record of 900 consecutive nights, we are going to try and reach 1000 consecutive nights.
It started on June 5th 1987, a 38 year run with no misses.
In order for us to reach such a milestone it will take at least 3 1/2 maybe 4 years, at 25-27 nights per season. We reached 905 at the end of 2024.
Over the past few decades we’ve had many nights racing two cars, but only counted them as one night. Our stats don’t go by “starts” like NASCAR, but by nights. The reason for that is because we get points as soon as we sign into the pits. We also get heat points and of course feature points. If we are in a bad crash in practice or in a heat race, blow an engine in either practice or qualifier, we still get points and are included in the 100% attendance at the end of the year. In that span of 900 nights we had 4 nights where we couldn’t make the feature because of a blown engine….the inline sixes were notorious for that. Based on missing those 4 out of 900 starts we can’t say we had 900 starts, but we made 900 consecutive nights, still a crazy dedicated stat…..I love racing.
Since moving to Nova Scotia and going through the loss of race nights due to the Covid deal, we have only made 62 nights, averaging 12 in the past 5 seasons. This year our schedule will consist of 24 nights at this point. I could add 2 more if funds are available.

Some nights were very bad and needed a lot of work and money to get ready for the next week. This crash on May 27th 2013 at Sunset nearly ended my streak before 700 consecutive. But the following morning I took the car to Mike Mc’Colls and he had it ready for the next week….$11,000 to repair, but thanks to Mike and his staff, we made both the next race. I always thank God for providing me with all I need and He has.
