Double Duty At Scotia Didn’t Work…Not Enough Crew But We Tried

The idea of running 2 cars in one night was never an issue with me. Make 2 trips to drop off the cars and go out and have fun.
The 2 trips here though were an hours drive each way. We took the Hot Rod out on Thursday for the Show & Shine and left the car there for the race Saturday. We returned Friday, Jack and I to practice and do time trials for the 250 on Saturday.
We only made one set of hot laps but were very happy with the car, turning 4 laps in the 14:5’s within 12 laps. We had only turned 14:5’s twice since 2021. We were pumped.
On Saturday Shannon and I returned to the track to set up for the day, and were able to have both cars together. All the Hot Rods parked together but I was able to have mine the next spot to us.
We time trialed last on Friday putting us last in our heat race on Saturday where we again finished last…8th.
The Hot Rod was terrible all day. I spun out twice in two separate practice sessions and again in the Heat race. So frustrating.
To top it off, we also spun out in the feature.
The Late Model was no different finishing wise. Started last in the 250. The car had a bad push that didn’t go away. Worse, Shannon was spotting all day, doing a great job, and on about lap 17 her radio or head set started getting a loud feed back crackling nose. I could not hear anything she was saying. We had to park the car finishing 24th. Very discouraged, but we can fix both cars.
WE had no damage and that was good for us, now to get the cars handling properly.
